Citroën shared some images of the ELO, a concept for an ultra-square electric car that most closely resembles a lunar vehicle.

According to CEO Xavier Chardon, the ELO was born in the company’s “idea lab” and was developed to reflect the values that Citroën wants to convey.

“It checks all the boxes of what has been the brand’s DNA for over 100 years and what I want to nurture in the coming years: creative, bold, accessible, responsible, ingenious, and dedicated to well-being,” he added.

The name ELO consists of the second letters of the words rest, play, and work, and its purpose is to “reinterpret the spirit of MPVs and leisure activity vehicles that shaped Citroën‘s history.”

It measures 4 meters in length, slightly longer than the Citroën C3, and its main focus is to provide maximum space for the driver and passengers. The vehicle was developed in partnership with Decathlon and Goodyear.

On the exterior, familiar Citroën elements can be seen, such as the front and rear lights, which feature cutouts functioning as aerodynamic devices. The exterior design is completed by honeycomb-patterned wheels and panoramic glass windows.

Meanwhile, the interior is designed to be as flexible as possible. The ELO can carry up to six people—three in the front and three in the rear—with the interior concept allowing multiple seating configurations.

Citroën points out that the rear seats can be removed “for an impromptu picnic,” a detail that pays homage to the original 2CV.

Additionally, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality is included, allowing you to charge multiple devices while on the go.

The new Citroën concept car will be officially unveiled by the French manufacturer at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show in January.
